| Buffalo Systems DP System Cycle Shirt |
|
 | Average Rating: 4 out of 5 No. of Reviews: 6 RRP: £93 Year: 2000 Description: Designed to be worn next to the skin, Buffalo's DP system combines a fleece pile liner with a Pertex shell. The fleece wicks sweat to the Pertex shell which disperses it over the surface and allows it to evaporate. The same happens if the jacket gets wet, allowing it to remain warm even in the rain.

 | | | Posted: 07/11/03 | | 'SUPERB TOOL FOR A SPECIFIC JOB' | | Strengths: When used properly, with the crotch straps fastened and venting matched to conditions, it is supremely comfortable. Although it is not waterproof in the traditional sense, you do not loose heat from being wet. | | Weaknesses: You need the strength of personality to ignore the laughter of the less enlightened. MUST only be used between mid Autumn and early Spring in the U.K. | | Overall: Mine is an early example from the late 80s, with a velcro crotch strap that I've intended to convert to Fastex for the past 5 years. As it was a semi-prototype (I used to sell them) it lacks the back pocket, with the kangeroo and bib pockets of the normal Mountain shirt instead. This does not matter to me, as I prefer my convertable Sidi bumbag/rucksack anyway. My winter wear is Buffalo shirt, lycra cycle shorts and Ron Hill Tracksters, with Porelle Dry Socks if wet. Its far and away the thinking persons cross-country wear as it works across a huge range of winter conditions. I,ve even used it over a wet suit for windsurfing, and been amazed by the fact that the pile fabric liner had dried out by the time I took the shirt off. Highly Recommended. |
