Strengths: Waterproof. Adjustable fit. Hardwearing.
Weaknesses: Feels strange after lycra!
Overall: Another top Altura product. Absolutely waterproof, even in biblical downpours. Lots of tabs and straps to make a snug fit, and to keep legs etc, from flapping in the breeze. Nice not having a wet backside during the rain! Can also take a spill without shredding. Easy to clean. Don't wash, hang up to dry in the garage, and brush off the mud when dry.
Overall: I recently purchased a pair of Altura Dryline trousers from a local outlet after seeing the what moutain bike gold award tag. After wearing and riding with them for the first I time I'm finding them rather ill concieved. They're not very breathable. Your legs sweat very quickly in them and the lack of inner lining then causes them to feel cold quickly, wind proofing or not. I say ill concieved because I set out after a trouser. Not and Over trouser or a legging, something like the Altitude but waterproof. A jack of all trades. It's a shame because I have the excellent phase 400 jacket which works. Pity the trousers don't compliment it.
Strengths: They fit perfect and the adjustable leg means they fit even long-legged peeps. They are very comfortable and have very long pockets keeping the load away from the crotch which is good for cycling. Also nice appearance - could wear walking also.
Weaknesses: VERY SWEATY. Doesnt matter if your a sweaty person or not, these trousers do not breath. Any hard graft and your soaking.
Overall: Keep you dry but i cant believe that they advertise them as being breathable because they arent breathable at all. Would not recommend for any reasonably hard cycle.
