Oakley Racing Jackets

George Hincapie seems pleased with Oakley's new Racing Jackets

It's not unusual for companies to wait until the Tour de France to launch, or at least reveal, the results of their latest product developments, and this race has certainly been no different.

Oakley supplies many of the riders with their current Radar's, and some riders have received customised models, including the Schleck brothers, Fabian Cancellara and Britain's Mark Cavendish.

Stage 2 winner Thor Hushovd and long-time Oakley sponsored rider George Hincapie have been spotted modelling the very latest design of eyewear to come out of Oakley's R+D department. The Racing Jackets, still a prototype at this stage, have been totally redesigned and the frames sport a completely new look.

The new design utilises a new lens mount system, claimed to provide easier swapping of lens with an array of tints for conditions ranging from sun to rain. Release is slated for spring 2009.
