Mercier Hutchinson Retro Jersey

As part of the new apparel collection for 2008/9, the French tyre manufacturer Hutchinson has launched a new collectable Mercier-Hutchinson jersey. The 1954 team replica jersey combines the classic looks of the 50's with a modern-day silky-smooth Merino wool/acrylic fabric mixture incorporating the outstanding thermal regulation and anti-odour benefits of natural wool.

Merino sheep wool is especially well-adapted for high-performance activities in a wide range of temperatures and conditions from hot to cold and dry to wet. Its fibres are painstakingly selected and treated, resulting in wool which has an incredible soft next-to-skin feel while offering a dry, comfortable environment thanks to its superior breathability, temperature regulation and moisture control.

Mercier-Hutchinson was a near-mythical team that at varous times between 1950 and 1971 featured heroic riders like Louison Bobet, Jacques Anquetil and Raymond Poulidor (nicknamed Poupou, the 'Eternal Second' of the Tour de France, who won the Vuelta a Espana in 1964).

Available in sizes S - XL, the jersey will be available at a suggested retail price of €75. Hutchinson produts are distributed in the UK by Extra UK.
