Specialized BG Fit Integration Technology

Specialized BG Fit Integration Technology

Ever feel like your bike doesn't quite fit you perfectly? It's no mystery that getting a good fit on your bike will result in increased comfort and better performance, but the road to a harmonious bike fit can be wrought with bad advice and can result in injuries.

While it's possible to successfully achieve a good fit from advice sought from friends or through trial and error, really the only way to ensure a perfect fit is to have an expert assess your current setup and advice on changes.

Specialized, in conjunction with Dr Andy Pruitt PA, director of the Boulder Centre for Sports Medicine in the US, have developed the BG F.I.T, a bike fitting system that aims to fit the bike to the body.

The system has been honed over the past 30 years, with many world champions and the likes of Lance Armstrong singing its praises. It's a dynamic system, with the rider on the bike and the position analysed to suit an individual's needs, with adjustments to the bike based on their unique body characteristics, experience level and cycling goals to maximise comfort and performance.

Specialized Head Quarters in the UK will also have the facility to BG F.I.T. consumers from May 1st 2008, with plans for 20 stores across the UK scheduled to become Specialized BG F.I.T. Centres before the end of 2008. All participating stores will take part in an intensive 2 day course, where theory and practice will be meticulously detailed. It will take a couple of months practice for the dealer to become a qualified Specialized BG F.I.T. Centre, after which point a BG F.I.T. logo will appear beside to their name.

Find your nearest dealer at www.specialized.com/dealerlocator or email bgfit@specializeduk.com for more information.
