Hutchinson Road Tubeless takes Het Volk

Française Des Jeux (FDJ) rider Philippe Gilbert of France demonstrated the competition worthiness of the Hutchinson Road Tubeless system at the weekend, crossing the finish line first at the end of a 22 km solo break in the Omloop Het Volk semi-classic. Gilbert rode Hutchinson Fusion2 Road Tubeless tyres mounted on Shimano Dura Ace wheels.

Said Martial Gayant, Assistant FDJ Team Manager: "The trials have been very conclusive. The whole team was won over in training. We have found the tires to have excellent efficiency and adhesion. You can ride at a lower pressure without the risk of punctures; this is truly an advantage in the spring races with their brutal sections of pavé to tackle."

As a result of the successful race performance, FDJ riders and staff have decided to race on Fusion2 Road Tubeless for the remaining spring classics, notably the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.
