Sugoi MidZero bib tights

Sugoi MidZero bib tights

Sugoi MidZero bib tights £96

Canadian-based Sugoi continues to impress with its knack for producing well designed, high performing garments. Its MidZero bib tights may sit one rung below its range-topping RS bibs, but they have proved to be perfectly adequate in recent adverse conditions.

They're mid-weight tights, and the legs are made from Sugoi's MidZero fabric. It's slightly stretchy and designed to be breathable and to wick sweat away. I found them to cope well in all but sub-five degree (or thereabouts) temperatures.

Above the waist the fabric changes to Mobil Mesh. It's very stretchy and means the bib part of the shorts is incredibly comfortable. Sugoi have paid particular attention to the knees, with a double-layer providing extra warmth. Elasticated ankles, signature gripper tape and zips keep the legs in place.

Inside, the Ricaro2 chamois is Sugoi's second-from-the-top pad. I always find Sugoi's shorts very comfortable, and the Ricaro2 continues this trend. It features a V-notch design that claims to be more flexible with a centre channel providing ventilation and pressure relief.

Verdict

Sugoi keeps coming out with some really good clothing, and these tights are no exception. Thoughtfully designed, comfortable and a good use of materials.
