SCI'CON Atlas bike bag

Atlas bike bag

SCI'CON, an Italian company that has produced bike bags since 1980, has spent two years developing the all-new Atlas.

The bag provides the flexibility and low-weight of a soft bag, but with the extra protection that a hard bag provides. A 5mm plastic frame offers the main reinforced structure, with 5cm external padding and 5mm of high density foam on the inside. The outside layer is made from water repellent 1680 Denier material.

18 wheels on the base, arranged in four sets, with the front set steerable, and the addition of a retractable belt handle, makes transporting your bike around the airport a doddle. The bag promises to accept all bike sizes with just the removal of the wheels. Additionally, an external pocket finds space for wheels and other spare parts.

All this protection does push the weight up though, the Atlas hitting the scales at 14.3kg. Bags come with a two year guarantee. Visit www.sciconbags.com for more information. Don't expect all this protection to come cheap either, costing in the region of £270.
