Rapha's redesigned Lightweight Softshell
Three-quarter bib shorts combine Thermo Roubaix fabric with well designed fit
Attention has been turning to digging out the winter clothing for a little while now, as the cold seems to be settling in. With keeping warm in mind, Rapha has just released details of its new winter range.
There's an impressive - Rapha is still a relatively small company remember - nine new products while another six have been updated. Not all the products are available just yet however, being released over the coming months. Here's a brief look at what's new.
Softshells
Rapha has two Softshell jackets in its winter range. There's the revised Softshell (which we liked when we reviewed it). It's been around since 2004, but Rapha has worked on the shape to make it fit a little better. The most notable difference is that the reinforced shoulder patch has gone back to just being on the left-hand side as in the original version, after it migrated to both shoulders in the more recent incarnation. Priced £210 the Softshell will be available 15 October.
The Lightweight Softshell essentially takes the Softshell and puts it on a diet: a lighter grade of material is used and some of the feautures have been removed. Coming in three colours; Flame Red, Olive Green and Provincial Blue, it costs £175 and is available now.
Three-quarter Bib Shorts
Made from soft brushed-back Thermo Roubaix fabric with a little stretch, the three-quarter bib shorts feature mesh panels for breathability and a Cy-Tech chamois curved to shape the body. There's reflective white piping on the front of the legs and behind the knees silver reflective tabs. Available now for £130.
Long Sleeve Jersey
The Long Sleeve Jersey is made from Sportwool into a jersey intended for three-season use, which should cover most conditions the UK can throw up. There's three pockets round the back, a zipped pocket and hidden pump pocket. It's available in Red, Purple and Blue and priced £120. Available now.
Other new products
Other new products include Winter Gloves, Racing Oversocks, a Silk Scarf, Long Sleeved Fixed T-Shirt, Fixed Track Top and a Fixed Musette - that's a lot of new products and we'll bring you all the details soon.
Updated products
Products that have been updated include the Winter Jersey, Winter Tights, Winter Hat, Fixed Jersey and Merino Baselayer.
