Sunday Bicycle's Silk Road |
"Just put your head down and ride," says the decal on the top tube of the Silk Road. And that's exactly what we've been doing on the Silk Road for the past couple of weeks.(That's how DA rides all the time; he's a menace - ed.)
Sunday Bicycles is a newish brand that arrived on the scene late last year, and is the outcome of the desire of Greg Roche (an elite and seasoned racer who rode on the Nippo squad last year) to create his own signature frame. There's a lot of input from racers, such as Rob Sharman, that goes into all the Sunday frames, and they've been out in force out all the Premier Calendar races this season. They've got race pedigree then.
There are currently two models on offer: the £749 Silk Road we've got here and at £1099 the Silk Road Pro, both prices frame only and with various build options available. Both models use the same 3Al/2.5V titanium alloy for the tubing, with the Silk Road forgoing double butted tubing and the integrated headset of the Pro.
Our test bike is fitted with Shimano Ultegra components, Easton finishing kit, a nice matching Arione saddle, Mavic Kysrium ES wheels and Continental GP4000 tyres. Look out for a full review very shortly and more exciting Sunday Bicycles news soon...
