This is my 6 month old custom built Serotta.
I am thrilled with it. It is the best handling bike I have ever ridden. I am known for being a wild down hill rider and fast at cornering and this bike enables me to go even faster. Up hill and out of the seat I find it most responsive, being stiff and light. (about 7.4 kg) Just like the professional reports say.
Due to the time I have been riding bikes, this will probably be my last. They will soon wear me out. I did get first in last years race around Lake Taupo in the 70+ age group and by a fair margin. Even though that 160 km is a hard ride, I enjoyed it immensely riding my Serotta. My time was 5h 12 m which puts me in the first 15% over all age groups.
I ride to keep fit, and in the 6 months I have had this bike I have done about 6500 km. I have my old bike but this is the one I much prefer to ride, so I use it for all occasions. I still enjoy the odd race, but most of my cycling is with groups of friends of similar ability and we do about 100 ks each Saturday and Sunday with a couple of rides of 60 ks during the week.
