The GWR Cycling Team launched their 2007 campaign last weekend, and showed off their new Wilier team bikes in the process. The riders will be looking to improve on their great results last year, culminating in a top ten overall, and have been putting their new bikes through pre-season training. Results last year include 21 victories with 37 top three placings and this put GWR ninth from the 500 teams across the UK.
Wilier supply bikes to Tour de France teams Lampre and Confidis, but this is the first time Wilier have ventured into the amateur racing arena. Colin Bath, Wilier brand manager at sole UK distributor ATB Sales Ltd, said: “This is an exciting venture for us with Wilier in the UK. The deal we have struck with GWR will see them get top racing machines and hopefully enable the lads to improve their ranking this year.”

Grant Bayton - consistent winner of the team last year. Elite rider aged 33.
Phil Bayton - National Masters 0ver 50s rider now into his 44th season of racing. Age 56. 2nd category.
Peter Kench - time trialler and road racer. 1st category. Aged 31.
Ben Luckwell - rarely out of the top six last year. Elite rider. Aged 40.
Dan Smith- narrowly missed out on glory last year. Looking to maintain his 2nd category status and support the team. Age 28.
Gary Smith - only his second year of racing but a promising bet. Looking to upgrade to 2nd category status. Age 27.
Nic Tilling: Two wins and several top ten placing slast year. Recovering from illness he is looking to hit form mid way through this season. 1st category. Aged 32.
