Gerolsteiner Specialized Tarmac SL
Gerolsteiner, the German bottled water company has supported a Tour de France
team for some years and campaigned Specialized bikes in 2006 with success.
At a Specialized equipment launch in January we got to see some great bikes
and today we feature the bike to be ridden by Austrian Peter Wrouch, a domestic
paid to do long hours on the front of the race. Tom Boonen's Tarmac and Roubaix
are to follow, as will Paulo Bettini's golden touch Tarmac.
Gerolsteiner equip their bikes with Shimano Dura Ace and the team will be
using helmets and shoes, as will Millram and a few others.
Specialized CEO Mike Sinyard (who won the smoothest chest prize at the launch)
says that all the bike are 'off the shelf' and not the product of special builds.
The bikes the pro-teams will ride can be brought at any Specialized dealer.
