Blackburn have launched the Voyager series of commuter lights, with two models available. The 3.0 has a single LED with a light-optimising optical lens, and the four AAA batteries provide up to 20 hours of runtime. If you want even more lighting, the 4.0 packs a Luxeon 1 watt LED, ample for most training rides but the four hour battery life limits it a little for commuting. Clever amber side LED's make sure you've got good side visibility two. A new quick release clamp makes fitting to standard and oversize bars a doddle.
Turbo training is a necessary evil for many of us. Here to make it easier is Blackburn's latest model, the Trakstand Ultra. It promises to be smooth, quiet and provide a realistic resistance. A centrifugal clutch, the Centriforce, differs from magnetic and fluid trainers, in that the unit provides resistance not just on your speed, but also based on acceleration too. So when you're pedalling hard there's plenty of resistance, but back off and the resistance drops.
It's possible to get the rear wheel as close as one centimetre to the grounds thanks to the adjustable height, so you shouldn't need to raid the bookshelf for a stack of books.
