The star attraction at the recent Revolution at Manchester Velodrome was undoubtedly Graeme Obree. The man who broke the long-standing World Hour record in 1993, only for long-time rival Chris Boardman to break it just a week later. But in 1994 Obree regained it, (And then Miguel Indurain broke it the following year...).
But besides his many successes, Obree is famed for innovation of his riding position and, of course, building his own bikes. That's certainly how many remember him. The crouch, tuck and more famously and banned by the UCI, the superman positions. He developed these positions and designed his bikes around them, to achieve a bike and rider setup that was as aero as possible. A true innovator.
