More medals at the UCI World Cup

A round-up of the final two days of the World Cup that took place in Sydney on the 17/18/19 November.

Day Two

Following on from a great start for the brits when Chris Hoy took the Gold home in the Kilo on day one, Craig MacLean (who we interviewed recently) raced to a Gold medal on day two. British confidence was further boosted by the sterling ride of Ross Edgar, with Edgar pushing MacLean hard in the final but undoubtedly the extra experience that MacLean has gave him the edge.

There was also success in the Women's Pursuit, with Wendy Houvenhagel finishing with a Silver medal, a mere second adrift of Katie Mactier (Aus).

Day Three

The World Cup ended well for the collection of brit riders, as on the final day two teams won Gold and Bronze in the Team Sprint. It was Ross Edgar, Chris hoy and Craig MacLean taking the top step of the podium, with the SIS team of Matthew Crampton, Jason Quelly and Jamie Staff just being edged out by the team from the Netherlands, Thos Bos, Teun Mulder and Tim Veldt.

It wasn't a day that Victoria Pendleton will want to be remembered for, as she was knocked out in the repechages in the Women's Keirin, failing to get through her first round match.
