Revolution - 13

Revolution will play host to the first sprint battle of the track season when World Champions go head to head at the Manchester Velodrome on October 14th. In what is undoubtedly the best sprint line up of any Revolution some of the world's top sprinters will take on the best of Britain in a guaranteed spectacle of speed.

Double World Champion Theo Bos heads the bill and will be the man to beat this season following his awesome display of power and skill to take the Sprint and the Keirin titles at the World Championships earlier this year. Joining Bos and making his first appearance at Revolution will be French sprint star Mickael Bourgain. Bourgain was disappointed to miss out on the medals in the Sprint and Keirin earlier this year but will still be wearing the coveted rainbow jersey as Team Sprint World Champion.

Making up the international field will be German sprint showman Jan Van Eijden and Italian legend Roberto Chiappa. Both riders have had plenty of experience at the Manchester track particularly during the 2000 World Championships where Van Eijden took the World Title and Chiappa was controversially disqualified in his semi final against Laurent Gane. These sprinters know how to spice up the racing and will ensure plenty of action and entertainment throughout the packed race programme.

Facing the international challenge will be a combination of experience and youth as household names such as Chris Hoy, Craig MacLean and Jamie Staff will be joined by new Junior Team Sprint World Champions Jason Kenny, David Daniell and Christian Lyte. With Ross Edgar and Matt Crampton also on the start list the competition will be intense with every sprinter eager to make their mark in the Revolution season opener.
