Eastway's relocation problems continue

Eastway consultation and relocation - Facts about the sites:

Rammey Marsh is 7 hectares in area once 'reservation' land is left off the red-line plan.

The circuit it 1.6km long but has numerous tight bends which will string out fields, meaning the effective capacity may well be no more than 60 riders at a time, compared to start fields of up to 120 at Eastway

Off-road area is of no merit. The 4km trail-length claimed by the LDA would only be possible with a layout equivalent to eight traverses of the 500m length of rideable area. Given that the area is around 80m wide at its E end, the trails would be 10m apart. Repeated road crossings will be required so concurrent operations of the circuit and off-road will not be possible. An MTB XC race must have a minimum 6km lap...read on...
