A partnership between cult apparel desingers G-Star and Cannondale has resulted in the creation of RAW CANNONDALE, a novel premium urban bicycle that not only incorporates quality and functionality but also displays clean lines, subtle design and innovation.

RAW CANNONDALE carries denim specialist G-Star’s distinctive 'rough, rudimentary and raw' design signature. The frame is finished in umbro-grey and displays a number of exclusive components to compliment G-Star’s heritage and identity as a leading fashion brand. From the limited edition Shimano Alfine 8 speed drive-train right through to colour coded components, mudguards, HeadShok front suspension technology and integrated lighting, attention to detail is evident throughout. Finishing the package are specially produced brown Vredestein tyres and the RAW denim top and seat tube cover. A further exclusive offering with every bike is a unique RAW CANNONDALE jacket.

G-Star will unveil RAW CANNONDALE to the fashion world during the BREAD & BUTTER BARCELONA tradeshow in January 08.

Limited to 500 units, the bike will be available in March at a price of £1,449.

Nice enough looking bike - looks like a world war two pushbike - those mudguards aren't nearly long enough mind. I like the idea of the integrated light in the stem - but what happens when it fails? (I know leds last much much longer than filament bulbs, but they do go eventually...)

39x18 gearing? Blimey-I think one can walk faster than that. Shimano what? series? £1449 for the package? No wonder they need to give away free jackets with it and have limited it to 500 builds...

It has hub gears Jorrin, it's not a singlespeed.

I'm loving the colour and the USE designed light. Spot on with the WWII reference Thomas. The look makes me think of something Pashley would do, but no doubt a lot lighter.

But still....1449? You can get yourself a very sweet secondhand CF racer on ebay for that, and have money to spare! For that amount I can build myself a superb ally framed racer with CF components and full DA drivetrain.

Well, there are lots of things one can buy for that kind of money...
