MF1 now uses lugs for off-the-peg sizes

MF3 'Crosser shows neat detailing

Johan Museeuw’s innovative range of bicycles has been awarded a prestigious iF Product Design Award for 2008.

The iF Industrie Forum Design award recognises excellence of form and use of materials and retains its validity for the entire life of the products it is awarded to.

The Museeuw Bikes MF range of frames claimed first prize in the Product Design Lifestyle/Leisure category. For 2008 the existing carbon-flax Museeuw MF-1 and MF-3 framesets will be joined by the all-new MF-5 frameset, which is the first to use main tubes almost entirely manufactured from flax fibres.

Track version retains clean lines of road frames

Flax fibres give MF5 main tubes distinctive appearance

Further information on the 2008 iF Product Design Awards can be found at www.ifdesign.de

Whoop! Getting two MF-1's with SRAM Red soon.

Obviously you have been a good boy this year if Santa is delivering two presents of such a high calibre. Very jealous.
Posted: 07/12/2007 19:55

M@ how is the new patio ??????

Posted: 07/12/2007 22:29

Team cyclingnews (no longer DFL) are riding these next year.

The man himself is also coming on board with the team. Will be an interesting set up for the team that is still hopeful of being pro-conti next year.

I think Clinton deserves a RCUK public ovation for signing for the professional Pedaltech-Cyclingnews-Jako squad. I wonder if he can hope for the respect of Richard Hallett now.

Ken

Yes, well done Matt - and very best wishes for the 2008 season.  Do you have a sense yet of what the season has in store for you in terms of races / role in the team etc ?

Perhaps we could have an RCUK article .....

Posted: 08/12/2007 08:29

Brilliant, bravo Mr Clinton
Posted: 08/12/2007 15:49

I wonder what performance enhancing substances provided the inspiration for the design?
Posted: 08/12/2007 16:43

Yeah BIG hand there M@ very well done mate.

Just to think I might have a trg ride with a Pro rider soon and oh yes......... Adam.

Does this mean that the Team Car that lives in Acocks Green will be resprayed now.   I drive past that car on patrol so often and keep thinking of popping in to ask for any spare wheels etc.

Posted: 08/12/2007 17:31

I've had the honour already (and Adam was there!), you'll be fine VLAD as it'll only be 14mph .

Give me a shout when you go.

Posted: 08/12/2007 17:35

Does this mean that the Team Car that lives in Acocks Green will be resprayed now.

No, as the team has nothing to do with DFL now.

Posted: 08/12/2007 17:52

Thanks Bally - do you work weekdays as I work various shift patterns.
Posted: 08/12/2007 17:57

Yes pal, could do with setting up a (dry!) Sunday session and we will sort the young uns out!
Posted: 08/12/2007 18:14

m@

Right then chippers, me and tranter are planning on doing this tomorrow. Goes through Aston Cantlow and everything.  The more the merrier.

Maybe. If it doesnt rain.  Might do an hour before too.  Depends how lazy I feel.

Posted: 08/12/2007 20:49

Soz guys, Have to be in at work by 1400 hrs.

And weather says loads of rain AM.

Keep me in mind though.   I might be old and slow but keen nether the less.

Posted: 08/12/2007 21:21

Crickey well done Matt, didn't see that one coming.

As a bitter, jealous old man, I am intrigued to know how you pulled that off....you must either be a little shy about your race CV, have sports test results through the roof, or some very good contacts, as I am sure pro contracts don't get dished out on the back of podium's in national hill climbs!

Care to share a bit of inside information on how this came about?

Posted: 08/12/2007 22:24

Hey well done M@. I will be able to stalk you even better now as one of my training partners from this very a.m. will be your house mate.

Posted: 09/12/2007 00:54

m@

The CV is ok, it was more that I've been racing in France that the contact was interested in.  It kind of evolved from one team (for Prems) to another and he kept us on board.

Didn't know I was going to have anyone stop round my house.

Posted: 09/12/2007 08:12

So you aren't going to Belgium then? Travelling to races from home?
Posted: 09/12/2007 09:32

m@

Dunno, is it raining?

I'm UK based, me.

Posted: 09/12/2007 12:39

Congratulations, m@.

I wonder if he can hope for the respect of Richard Hallett now

As ever, he has it; any forum disagreements have been , for my part, about addressing the aims and aspirations of differing branches of cycling activity

Posted: 09/12/2007 21:07

C'mon Richard. Admit that part of the reason that you do it is because it is so easy to wind Adam and co. up.

Posted: 09/12/2007 23:36

You've got me bang to rights, guv...

Posted: 11/12/2007 14:05

hi there i know this is old stuff, but the latest headlines on the front page about JM bikes is still news... as i have said before,, how does a shamed ex pro, be able to market bikes under his own shamed name to make money,, why do punters actually buy bikes with a name that typifies cheating at the highest level... can someone convince me.. a bientot.
Posted: 17/01/2008 09:11

Congrats M@ you done well....... It won't stop all the piss taking though!
Posted: 17/01/2008 12:16

m@
Bit late there!  RCUK haven't published the press release I sent them yesterday yet, but basically the team's been abandoned.
Posted: 17/01/2008 12:25

What a bastard! - have you got a plan B?
Posted: 17/01/2008 12:56

m@
Yeah, McDonalds.
Posted: 17/01/2008 13:02

Chin Up!
Posted: 17/01/2008 13:06

m@

Oi Tranter! Get off, or I'll be there in the shop to give you a kicking!

Cycling News article, 2nd story.

Posted: 17/01/2008 13:06

Sorry to hear your news, m@. Where did you send the press release? We did run David Harmon's piece, but clearly matters have since moved on.

I understand from a source that there is a lot more to come on this story. We'll try to keep everyone informed.

Posted: 17/01/2008 16:58

Yeah M@,

Sorry to hear the news mate - have you any idea what next or just going to wait a bit.

Posted: 17/01/2008 17:13

m@

Sent it to Editor@roadcyclinguk.com I think and LCS.

Yeah, there probably is more to come, things are possibly looking up from what I hear this afternoon.  Regarding the Pedaltech story, we don't know much more than what's been on the internet in our press release.  We'd prefer not to be refered to as 'Pedaltech' from now on though! New, albeit temporary team name to come soon!

Vlad - it's the wrong time of year to sit and wait!  Setting up sponsors take a while and there's only about a month until racing kicks off.

Posted: 17/01/2008 17:22

A mate of mine here in Aus had his and girlfriends tickets booked and paid for to Belgium for a season in the paid ranks, living in a house they have rented.....now with no job thanks to it all falling through (notice that cyclingnews are referring to the team as Pedal Tech and omitting their own name a bit).

He was one of the ones who rode for a wink and a nudge and 100euro in the pocket per month last year and was looking forward to being paid properly in 2008. Not to be I guess.

M@, you look like you have something sorted according to reports. Keep us updated.
