Lew Racing Convexo Convex disc wheel

Lightest wheel manufacturer turns attention to aero disc wheels

Lew Racing makes some of the lightest carbon rims, and wheelsets from Lew weighing under 850g are not uncommon. The company has recently turned its attention to disc wheels and has just released the Convexo Convex disc wheel.

The name Convexo Convex is derived from the cross-section of the wheel, the profile of which is a double convex shape. Lew Racing claims the benefit of this shape when compared to a more typical flat-sided disc is improved aerodynamics when taking into consideration the turbulence caused by the rider's legs and the frame.

The Boron/Carbon Fibre tensioned skin disc relies on the strength of the disc's sides in tension, with the convex shape providing lateral stiffness. Weight is 780g and the wheel is available in track or road spec to fit Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo.
