By no means the lightest cycle helmet on the market, Giro's Ionos is nevertheless one of the most sought-after thanks to its effective Wind Tunnel ventilation system, which uses 21 orifices, its In-Mold Composite frame, which adds strength to the join between the shell and inner moulding and its association with seven-times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, who favoured a yellow-tinted "Livestrong" version of the Ionos from its introduction in 2009.

For 2011, two more designs with the Armstrong signature join the Livestrong model in the Lance Armstrong Collection. Called the matt red/titanium and matt yellow/black lance editions, they feature the new RocLoc 5 retention system, are available in sizes Small, Medium and Large and are priced at £169.99.
