After the C50 and C50, the Colnago for Ferrari 60th Anniversary Limited Edition... Created in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the prestigious Italian car manufacturer Ferrari, this latest carbon-fibre jewel from the Maestro of Cambiago will be made in a strictly limited edition of 60 examples, which will be sold alongside the existing CF4 frameset that forms the basis of the Anniversary cycle. Each will be sold with a certificate of authenticity. The first of these, No. 001 will be displayed in Harrods of Knightsbridge from the 5th of July, the week the Pro-Tour Teams come to Britain for the Tour de France London Grand Depart.

Today carbon fibre bicycles are favoured by almost all Pro Teams due to the materials’ light weight, strength and absorbtion of road vibration. The 60th Anniversary Limited Edition also celebrates the friendship between the houses of Ernesto Colnago and Enzo Ferrari, who became friends during the 1980’s. The collaboration between Ferrari F1 engineers and Colnago created the worlds’ first production carbon fibre bicycle frames and later the legendary Colnago-Ferrari.

The 60th Anniversary Limited Edition sports classic Ferrari red livery and the famous prancing horse badge. The carbon fibre saddle has a unique Ferrari-inspired design, hand painted by an Italian artist to match the frame. Almost every part of the bicycle, including the frame, forks, wheels, saddle, seatpost, cranks and handlebars is made from carbon fibre with groupset by Campagnolo and wheels by legendary German firm Lightweight. How much? No details on price have been released, so it looks like 'price on application'.

Colnago for Ferrari bicycles are also available through the Colnago Official Dealer Network. Details can be found at www.www.windwave.co.uk.

Not shabby, however you wonder how many of them will actually be used on the road. That's the real pity because I suspect that seeing one in the flesh might convince some of the anti bike brigade. I somehow don't think it will be in the bike to work scheme (shame)

would be nice if it was, £4000 off perhaps?
    Posted: 28/06/2007 11:40

Bet it would still be about £4000 though!

I believe the prices I read were £4995 for the cheaper frameset and £5995 for the better one or something like that, I didn't pay much attention because it's fugly.

    I'd prefer an Aston Martin

It looks a really good bike but somehow I think the 'fatter' aero wheels make all bikes less pleasing to the eye!!

when colnago try and make their bikes look better, they make them look worse - I ride a cristallo (nude carbon)

I don't see the point of owning a bike that pays homage to a car
