Stupid zipper!

For the past few months I've been noticing that my tights / shorts have been getting little fuzzy patches on them at the crotch area, like something has been rubbing them.

I have been wearing my new endura 3/4 roubax bib shorts, 2 rides later, what do I see but more little fuzzy patches right at the crotch area.

I think I've found the problem, the bottom edge of the zipper on my winter jersey has been rubbing the shorts as I cycle.

Going to have to see if I can stitch a little bit of material to cover the bottom of the zipper before I end up wearing through all my tights & shorts!

Plus I think I'll not pull the jersey down as far, so that when I'm cycling it won't be rubbing against anything.

Still, at least I've figured out what's causing these funny little fuzzy patches!

cheers

Edit - managed to find some fleecy type material, so I've sewn an extra "flap" to cover the bottom of the zipper.

Here's hoping this will solve the phantom fuzzy patches!

Theres nothing worse than fuzzy crotches

Malcolm, indeed.

I did find that a light shave with an electric shaver cures a fuzzy crotch.

<I think that's enough double entendres though!>

This is just one of the reasons why a handful of thoughtful manufacturers attract such a fanatical following. Look closely at clothing from Assos, Gore, Arcteryx, Mountain Hardwear, Haglofs etc. and you will often find intriguing details. Think of zip garages! Remember that the next time you go shopping.

Certainly will think about that next time I buy a jersey. Mind you, 5 minutes with a sewing machine and a bit of coloured material to match the jersey and job's a good un.

Of course it would be best if I didn't have to though!
