I am looking for a wheel that i can use solely as a turbo training wheel , however while i know i am looking for a road bike wheel of 700 * 23 , i have no idea what else i am looking for - i have Sora  - and there are (i think) 7 or 8 cogs on the back wheel .

What am i looking for (in bike speak)?

Also if anyone is planning on upgrading their wheels and fancy flogging the old ones , let me know!!

Mary.

I brought a cheap rear wheel for my bike to put on a trainer and I use a trainer tyre as well from continential.

I brought a cheap Shimano rear wheel for £50 and put the tyre on it.

You can buy any cheep wheel for this and then buy a rear cog to go with what you have on your bike, ie shimano or campag. and choose either 7,8,9 or 10 speed.

Use the sites on the left like chain reaction.

Hope this helps.

Ah right so you can buy the cog seperately , so  i could have shimano 7,8,9 or 10 , or do i have to stick with how ever many speed is on there now ?

Yeah i was planning on getting a trainer specific tyre , but i have some spare although not road worthy tyres that im gonna wear out first .

For the gear shifting to work properly you will need a cassette with the same number of sprockets as on your regular wheel.
