Just about to register for Cycle the Wight , and it asks which start point.

I have never been to the Isle of Wight and therefore know nothing , would like to start and therefore finish somewhere where there will be a campsite and someone that sells pizza , but apart from that im not too fussy!

Not sure where the hardest hills are , and even if i did , im not sure if its best to get the hardest out of the way first , or build up to them?!

The start options are Blackgang , Ryde , East Cowes or Yarmouth

Mary,

I believe the worst hill is at Blackgang.

I am starting from Ryde - for no other reason than it is nearest to the ferry port at Fishbourne!

That means Blackgang should be just under the halfway mark for me. However, from what I have read, it is very up and down all the way around.

Gary.

I toured the island years ago starting from Yarmouth, which from memory had the facilities you are looking for. It does mean catching a ferry from Lymington.
