Well done VLAD - a very deserving winner! Can we look forward to some piccies from the new camera?

ditto - and thanks for the 'honourable mention' - my first ever!

Well, my copy of "Shift" arrived today - I look forward to reading it at the weekend. A question for Richard Hallett, though: Where was the photo on page 6 taken (Editor's introduction)? ... and, more importantly, what is the beer? It looks like Biere d'Esquelbecq, but that's not one I know. Quite dark too. Any good?

It's all a bit hazy now, but the pic was taken in a beer cafe in Mont Cassel the night before Paris-Roubaix, which David A, Andy Kay and I rode out to watch. Was it any good? Why do you think my memory is a bit vague?

OK, just had a close look at the pic and it is indeed La Biere d'Esquelbecq. Recommended.

my head is throbbing just at the mention of that name...

sorry just randomly thought of another caption. "I came here to get a filling, not quite sure what this girls doing..."

Well it looks as though La Biere d'Esquelbecq is one to put on the list in France. I usually only drink French beer because I'm thirsty, and tend to stick to Pelforth Ambre or Brune. I'm not keen on the Trappist types that give you horrendous wind!
