When eventually back in the chair' I want to upgrade the post that came with my Specialized Allez for an aero, carbon alternative. Does anybody have any good suggestions?

The USE one is pretty good, but a pain to set up and adjust.

Easton EC90. Don't bother with an aero one.

If you definitely want an aero one then I'd agree that the USE one is good. The Easton one is a bit garish and nearly as fiddly as the USE one to set up.

I intend to upgrade wheels first, then post etc.. Would anyone reccomend the Easton headset also?

Of course. Yes the EC90, any good?

There are lighter, stiffer stems. Carbon isn't the best material for stems, an alu stem of that weight would be much stiffer and an alu stem that stiff would be much lighter.

Mike. Can you reccomend any?

I ditched my Bonty carbon stem and got an Easton EA70 stem instead. Only cos I needed it to go with my bars.

The new Thomson ones are light and stiff, I use a Deda Newton which I like. It's only really carbon ones that I'd avoid.

I persoanlly use an FRM web stem but if you want oversized the Ritchey WCS is pretty damn good and v.light, seatpost, I've just snapped mine so I'm looking to replace it with the selcof monocoque or if budget won't allow the Post Moderne Smica, personally i think jury's still out on aero seatposts, although they do look nice...
