The Gore ones are good, but the gripper elastic is a bit duff, and they're not super ultra warm. As a base layer they're great though.

Endura MT500 shorts with Ron Hill Bikesters (or DXB Bikesters) over the top...do me just fine....thanks

Endura's seem well rated, bit pricey though, I'm going to try either some Pro Vision or Lusso thermomax.

i use a combo of good quality shorts and cheap bibtights with no padded liner

i use a pair of pearl izuma ultra sensor shorts and either provision 3/4 (no insert) or the ground effect daddy long legs (again, no insert) over the top depending on the temperature. works for me...
