I am looking for a cape for road use. Should not let rain in but let sweat out! Also roll up small and have a bag if possible. Suggestions gratefully received

Capes and ponchos are really good for one thing - Acting like a sail in high winds and getting you blown off your bike!

Check out lightweight jackets like the Lowe Alpine Adrenaline instead

I am a fair weather cyclist Charlie so I only need a cape for situations where I get caught in a sudden shower!

Still, go for a jacket. Trust me!

Sorry Charlie if I got a jacket I'd need waterproof over-trousers too and I'm not getting changed every time it rains!

Tchibo do/did one. At the other end of the scale, Carradice also so one. Also from the CTC shop, Spa Cycles, and most touring-orientated suppliers. Your LBS probably has a few (but they've probably sold so few that they won't be able to find them when you ask).

We have sold litterally hundreds of  traditional capes , they are still the best for ventalation and actually keeping you dry, providing you can put up with the restrictions of mobilty over a jacket.
