Ok so go down to your local high streets sports shop (ie jjb) and get a 10quid pair of tracksuit bottoms, then get some cycle specific tights and where THEM underneath!

whatever u do don't buy any bib tights as these make you look like WWF wrestler...

if fact all tights are for women..
cycling where grown men get to wear tigts in public.

just get down the shops and shop around, try to stay away from bike shops as most of thier stuff is yellow red or skin tight.

get yourself down to the lumbarjack shop. -that's where the real men shop. the check shirts have a special bug which turns your sweat rancid immediately so as to repel gays and excite women.
lumbarjack trousers are especially suitable for cycling when combined with those boots with spikes at the front of the sole, -you can slash your way through overgrown singletrack leaving the massed ranks of gays in their girly tights (who are probably hunting you down) miles behind.
they probably sell KKK hoods as well -that way you can frighten off black gays. i'm not sure how effective they are in a crash though.

or wear baggy shorts over the top if it really bothers you.

try Ron Hill Bikester Bottom's, there not as tight as Lycra tights. I ware Lycra shorts under them
and or Lycra tights when it's really cold

To be honest the first time I wore lyrca tights, I felt a bit foolish, but seeing as how I cycle in Scotland I really don't give a monkeys what people think. They keep me legs warm in the winter and that is the important thing for me. Also, I feel it is such a regular sight nowadays that it's not really a problem.
Fox have got some plain looking ' Free ride ' type trousers coming out soon.Waterproof windproof etc £60 ( See review in this months mbuk (or mbr?) )

I use ron hill bikesters and was accused of wearing my wife's tights by my 16yr old daughter, oh well!!!!!!!

A 16yr old daughter won't approve of anything you wear, and don't let her friends see you or "she will die"......been there.

You may wanna look on www.extremepie.com as they have some classy Pants by brands such as Animal, Quiksilver, and Reef which are for snow/skate boarding and BMXing alike, plus the stuff don't look like it comes from a YMCA reunion dressing room. But hey, no offence if you swing that way!

How about these 'Ranchsliders', from Ground Effect? Pretty hetrosexual looking.

If wearing bikin' tights is preying on your homophobic side son - wear baggies but take your chain off to avoid getting them dirty or caught up - You won't look gay, but you'll look like a c**t instead - your call!!!

OK, Tom's choice of thread title probably wasn't the best but no one seems to want to help him out. Check out Kona and RaceFace for freeride pants that aren't massively baggy, won't make you overheat and are fairly quick drying. Also Altura Altitude and Gore Vantage (I think) are similar. I find that the Sugoi trousers I picked up in BC are far less restrictive than heavyweight lycra tights - both on the knees and the old man!

Go with Ron Hill Bikesters, fit good, water resistant and DON`T tend to get you chatted up by the same sex!
